Steven and Cheryl

Uncle Kirk, Aunt Jackie, Steven and Cheryl came over tonight. Andrew had alot of fun chasing Steven and Cheryl around! They brought over an interactive video game....it has a little camera that you set up and you can see yourself on the television screen! Andrew had alot of fun with this.

Not a smart move....

Andrew decided to turn on his battery operated train and then stick it to the side of his head! Of course the train got tangled up in his hair and he was in a bit of distress. Luckily, we did not need to bring out the scissors.

Poor Nathan has been coughing again. He was up alot last night (and so were we!). Our doctor said that he might need a chest xray but when he checked him out, he said his lungs sounded good. He still thinks this cough is from a virus, some kids have a cough that tends to linger. He is eating and drinking well and looks fine (no fever). It's just frustrating that he can't get rid of this cough! Hopefully we will sleep better tonight (it seems to get worse at night). He is not contagious so I think I will take him to the daycare tomorrow for a couple of hours.

I cut Andrew's blankie in half last night and switched it on him while he was sleeping. He woke up this morning, took it to daycare and still hasn't noticed that his blankie is half the size it was the day before. Maybe I'll keep cutting it in half and eventually, it will just disappear.

Last day with Marilyn

Today was Nathan's last day with Marilyn....I don't think he was too upset about it.

Andrew was at daycare today. He cried alot this morning when I dropped him off. They said he had fun today although he spilled fruit juice all over his shirt and blankie! The girls said they tried to wash it and hang it up to dry but Andrew wasn't too happy about that. They felt bad about his blankie being stained...I told them not to worry about it, he has 7 more at home. He is giving up his blanket without being told when they go play outside...making a little bit of progress I guess!

Nathan loves to feed himself now!!



Andrew and I went to Wallymart this morning to check out the Halloween costumes....he liked the Spiderman costume but it looks like pajamas! I didn't buy it. Ended up buying him a new toy (as if he needed one!).

Nathan went to Marilyn's today....as soon as I walked into her house, he started to cry. As he's crying, I'm telling her that this will be Nathan's last couple of days with her. She understood and said that I could still use her as a backup if need be.

Miss Kelly

All weekend Andrew was talking about Miss Kelly (his teacher at daycare). I'd be rubbing his back to get him to fall asleep and he'd say "Miss Kelly". I'd give him some juice and he'd say "Miss Kelly red juice". I'd change his diaper and he'd say "Miss Kelly change". Someone seems to like Miss Kelly I think!! So this morning I thought he'd be fine going to daycare but he still cried. He went right to Miss Kelly though! They said I could bring Nathan in sometime this week for a few hours just so he can hang out and meet his new playmates...maybe Thursday or Friday.

This is my last week off! Back to work on Monday!

I took Andrew to swimming class yesterday morning. He loved being in the water! There are about 10 kids in the class, most of them younger than Andrew. When he got out though, he was freezing...shivering, couldn't talk! I've never seen him so cold before! He cried for a bit. It was a regular pool, not a kiddie pool so it wasn't as warm as I would have liked it. After the class I put him into a warm shower right away and he was ok for awhile...until I started to get him dressed. I'm wondering if I am going to take him back next week! Nathan stayed with Aunt Jackie and Cheryl while we went swimming.

Today Andrew came home looking like a cat! The theme at daycare this week was cats so they all had whiskers painted on their faces. The girls said that Andrew had a great day! I think he is starting to enjoy it there. I asked him if he wanted to go back to Marilyn's and he said "no, school better" That's pretty clear to me. And a spot opened up in the Infant room so Nathan will be going there as well starting October 3rd (which works out perfectly because that's my first day back to work!). I think Andrew will feel more comfortable knowing that Nathan is also there. It will also be so much more convenient dropping them off at the same place!

I had a good day. Jody came out for a visit and we took Nathan to Boston Pizza for lunch, then for a bit of shopping.

Bob left this morning for a cottage weekend so it's just me and the boys! We played with the neighbours kids for a bit tonight, then went to the park.

Tomorrow morning is Andrew's first swimming lesson!

Bob is re-doing the front walkway....the interlocking bricks were slowly sinking so he wanted to level it out...turned into a big job! The kids were very interested in the machine Bob had rented. We also bought a new screen door the other day.

Daddy's birthday!

Today was Daddy's birthday!
Nathan was well enough to go to Marilyn's today so Andrew and I went shopping! We bought daddy a little balloon, some chocolate cupcakes and a Leaf t-shirt for his birthday! Then Grandma and Papa came over so Bob and I went out for dinner to a restaurant up the street.

We were a little tired today because Andrew got us up at 5:30 this morning! He had a fit because I wouldn't go downstairs to watch t.v!! After about 10 minutes of straight screaming, I finally gave in and went downstairs just so he'd be quiet!! I'm surprised that Nathan didn't wake up with all the noise. Hopefully he will sleep in a bit longer tomorrow.

Doctor again

Bob took today off and we took the kids to the doctor again. This time it wasn't to a clinic, it was to our family doctor. He said Nathan has a virus and it will get better on its own...he seems to be better today than yesterday. Andrew has been put on asthma medication (a pill once a day whether he has asthma symptoms or not) so hopefully this will help lessen the coughing episodes.

Sick again :(

Andrew has developed a bad cough again and a fever. He went to bed tonight at 6:30! I doubt he will be going to daycare tomorrow. Nathan is still coughing as well but he has a really good appetite and is in a good mood.

Friday!

Today Andrew went to daycare. He was pretty good...I actually got him into the classroom before he started to cry. Usually he cries when I pull into the parking lot...I think we're making some progress! The girls told me that he is a fantastic eater. He had 3 servings of lunch!!
I went into work today....I will be going back to work as soon as possible...maybe starting on Tuesday or Wednesday! I think I'm ready to go back....I just hope Andrew adjusts to daycare. Nathan is fine at Marilyn's.

why?

Nathan is still coughing so I took him to the doctor this morning. He said his throat looks fine, ears look fine, chest sounds fine. The cough is still lingering from the virus he had 2 weeks ago! Hopefully it will stop soon.

Andrew is at that "why" stage right now. He asks "why" after everything I say. I said "Stop asking WHY!!!" He says "Why?" It's getting a bit annoying now.

I bought Pull-Ups today for Andrew....used a couple of them this morning. He just doesn't get it.

Both kids are home today....Daddy is out golfing in a work tournament. Perfect day for golf!

Andrew went to daycare today. He cried again! They say that he cries on and off sometimes during the day, usually during down times...ie. when it's diaper change time or if they are getting lunch ready. But once they get him occupied again, he's fine. He eats well there and always has a nap (usually a short one). He'll get used to it soon I hope.

Nathan is still coughing a little. He loves his bath!

Coughing again!

Nathan was coughing again last night. He woke up a couple of times because of the coughing. And he has a runny nose. Just when I thought he was getting better, it seems like he has the cold again!

This morning Andrew and I went to the Recreation center and signed up for Aquatots. He will go on Saturday mornings at 9:30 starting on Sept 24th. He loves swimming!
Then we went to Toys R Us and bought a new car seat....we needed another one to put in Bob's car.

Today is the first Sunday for football! Daddy will be downstairs for most of the afternoon I'm sure.

Daddy day!

Today was my last golf game of the season with the ladies. It was alot of fun. We golfed 18 holes, then went back to the pub for some food, drinks and prizes. It was an all day event.... I was out from 8:00 until 6:00! Bob had a great time with the kids. He took them grocery shopping (he's brave!), then to Toys R Us, then to a fair that they had up the street. He said the boys were really good....Andrew didn't even cry when I left this morning!

The kids were at daycare today so I went to the town centre and met mom and dad for lunch. After lunch we took a walk over to see their new condo (just the lobby and main floor). It is really nice....the facilities include a party room, card room, theatre, virtual golf room, library, swimming pool and gym! Wow! Nothing that they will use.......but maybe we could!
After the condo tour, I went over to the government building to get Nathan a SIN number. We're thinking about putting him to work early!
Andrew had a so-so day at daycare. They said he was tired all day and didn't really nap much. They said he had a real tight grip on his blankie all day. Oh well, we all have our off days. He was fine this evening...we were outside for a long time playing with a few of the neighbours kids.

Friday!!

Yesterday Andrew and Nathan were home. Nathan was still coughing and had a runny nose. Nana and Grandpa were here until just after lunch....Andrew is Grandpa's shadow! He follows him everywhere and whatever Andrew eats, Grandpa has to eat the same.

I went to see Wedding Crashers with Jody last night. Funny movie! Poor Andrew cried for about 20 minutes after I left and eventually cried himself to sleep at 7:00! (So he doesn't only cry at daycare!) He slept through the night and was up bright and early this morning at 5:45! He is at daycare today and Nathan is at Marilyn's so I am going try to get some things done!

Andrew had a good day at daycare...they say he never cries long after I leave. I am sure they are used to kids crying everyday. He is always very chatty when he comes home...I guess that's a good sign. Nathan is alot better today...he is coughing less.

Nana and Grandpa are here for the night. They are visiting some friends tomorrow.

Better

The kids are getting better. Andrew went to school today (crying of course!). Nathan sounds better today....he had a good sleep last night.

Yesterday we went out for dinner with Papa and Grandma (to Kally's). It wasn't a very relaxing dinner that's for sure! It started off with Andrew having a dirty diaper and me having to change him in the restaurant bathroom without a change table (I'm getting better at changing a diaper while he's standing)! Andrew doesn't have the patience to sit through an entire meal...and Nathan is getting to that age now where he wants to move around too! So throughout the meal, I don't think we were all sitting down at one time, there was always one of us walking around with either Andrew or Nathan! This is the picture of the kids when we got home.

Labour Day!

What a long weekend....a long sick weekend! I'm feeling worse today than yesterday.

Well, I think Nathan may have Croup. He sounds like a seal when he coughs! Poor guy cries everytime he coughs so it must hurt in his chest. He's still eating though! Andrew is still coughing a little.

Bob finished the shed today so now we're moving some things over from the garage.

Update

Andrew's cough has come back a little bit today, but he is eating well. Nathan was up a few times last night because of a cough....he still has a runny nose but still has his appetite.

Bob went to Home Depot today to buy a shed for the side of the house....will update with a picture once it has been completed!

Getting better

Andrew slept almost 13 hours straight last night without a cough! He's pretty much back to normal this morning. Nathan doesn't have a fever anymore but he has a runny nose.

I have now caught their cold!

Still Sick

Nathan is still running a bit of a fever and Andrew was up through the night coughing. Took them to a clinic this morning and the doctor said it's just a cold and we have to let it run it's course. Their ears are fine but their throats are a little red. Andrew is staying home from school today.

Sick

Andrew went to school yesterday...he cried as usual. I don't think he's feeling 100% better yet.

Nathan now has a fever. He probably caught what Andrew had!
They took turns waking me up last night....hardly got any sleep!

Wow, it's September 1st! One more month and I'm back to work.
