Today we took it easy....the kids are both coughing and Andrew has had a fever on and off all day (it's amazing how Advil works though!). They are both in good moods and we played inside all day. Andrew and Sponge Bob had a birthday party! We also switched Andrew's bedroom so that he has the big room now. So far he seems to like it. We also removed some of the knobs from our kitchen cupboards so we're not cleaning up after Nathan as much!!

We were supposed to go to Cullen Gardens but because of the kids cough and the weather we didn't go....we are hoping to reschedule before it closes down.

Today we pretty much just kept busy cleaning up after Nathan, then tonight we went to Marty and Donna's for dinner. They just had a baby girl on Dec. 20th! Hard to believe our kids were that small at one point...they don't stay that small for very long. Andrew and Nathan had fun playing with all the toys.

Both kids have a bit of a cough now. Hopefully it won't get too much worse.

Relaxing day?

Grammie and Grandpa went home this morning. I tried to clean up the toys as much as possible but as soon as I'd put a toy away, Nathan would take it out again. It is so hard for Andrew to play with his blocks or cars because as soon as he gets down on the ground, Nathan is right there knocking things over, and Andrew gets so mad! Poor Nathan got a couple of good whacks on the head by Andrew today....he got sent to his bedroom for that one. He came out and apologized. It won't be long before Nathan starts to fight back.

We went to Walmart to pick up a few things then decided to go out for dinner. Now I remember why we haven't been to a restaurant in awhile. Andrew dumped my huge pop all over his pants and shirt (I had an extra shirt, but not pants). Then Nathan got a hold of a packet of mayo and bites right through it squirting it all over his highchair and the floor. After I take Andrew to the bathroom to dry him off as much as possible, he gets back to the table and refuses to sit down! On his way back a group of people at a table said "Hi" to Andrew...he gives them this look and says "NO!!" He was so loud. Nathan was getting loud as well...lately he just likes the sound of his voice so he'll make these annoying repetative noises! And Bob and I had to try and eat through all of this?! They had to do a major cleanup under our table that's for sure.

Boxing day

Today was another busy day. Bob, Grandpa and I took Andrew to the zoo this morning to see the animals get their Christmas treats! Nathan stayed home with Grammie. It was really windy and cold! Andrew didn't have much fun....either did I. I think I still have the chills!
Uncle Kirk, Aunt Jackie, Cheryl and Steven came over for dinner and we exchanged gifts. It was Christmas again! After dinner, Cheryl and Steven gave Andrew a bath.

Christmas dinner!

We had dinner at Uncle Gary and Aunt Jackie's today. We had alot of fun and the food was great! It was nice to see everyone. All the kids got spoiled (which is what Christmas is all about isn't it?).

We got home and had just finished unloading all the toys from the car and Grammie and Grandpa walked in! Andrew stayed up until almost 10:30 tonight, way past his bedtime. Santa brought Andrew a play microphone so he was busy entertaining us by singing along to one of his favourites...Neil Diamond.

Tomorrow morning we are going to the zoo (weather permitting) to watch all the animals get their Christmas treats!

It's Christmas!

Christmas morning was alot of fun! Andrew got up at the usual time and went downstairs to see what was under the tree. Santa was good to the kids! It was kind of overwhelming for Andrew...we had to call him back to finish opening presents because he would just walk away!

This week...

Not much exciting happening this week....lots of shopping, that's about it. Kids are good. Santa visited the daycare this week! Andrew got a dinosaur from him which he loves! I went out tonight for dinner with girls from work...the kids were very good for Bob. Andrew doesn't freak out anymore when I go out which is great.

Tomorrow afternoon the daycare is having an open house. We will get Andrew's first report card!

I think we are ready for Christmas.

Gingerbread

Tonight we decorated the gingerbread house and then put together Nathan's little John Deere Ride'm tractor. He really likes it!

few more pics...

Today was another busy day...we got up early and went to the mall. The kids got a picture with Santa. Andrew waited patiently for 45 minutes! Once he got to the front of the line, they let him through and he ran right to Santa! He practically jumped up onto his lap! Nathan stared at him for a few seconds and then he was fine.

This afternoon we went over to Uncle Kirk and Aunt Jackie's. We exchanged gifts with Aunt Laura and Justice (Jon wasn't feeling great so he was at home with Uncle Mike). Andrew got a cool John Deere tricycle! Bob had to put it together as soon as we got home. Nathan got a little John Deere Ride-On Tractor!

So another weekend has flown by! Can't believe Christmas is next weekend!

Saturday, December 17, 2005

This morning we went to the IBM Christmas party. It was alright...they had alot of different things for the kids to do but Andrew was too young for most of them. He really liked meeting "Carlton" the Bear. He made Carlton very happy when he shouted "Go Leafs Go!"

Both kids fell asleep in the car and then had a short nap at home. Then Marty, Donna and Caleb came over for dinner. Donna is due on Christmas day!

Here's the only picture we have from the concert....Andrew was crying because the "people were loud".

Concert

The kid's Christmas concert was yesterday. It was cute...Nathan's class came out and danced to "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree". Nathan danced a little and then just stared at the crowd! Andrew's class came out dressed as angels and they sang a few songs...Andrew was good, he did the actions and was trying to sing as much as he could. But he spotted us in the audience and couldn't stop waving to us from that point on! I thought that maybe once he saw us he'd want to come running over, but he didn't. We took a few pictures but they didn't turn out that great. I might post them later.

Clean up!

Last night we sorted through some of the kid's toys....Andrew helped me sort. I would ask him if it was a "big boy" toy or a "baby" toy. We made two piles and we're going to get rid of all the baby toys...there's quite a bit.

Today is the kid's Christmas concert at the daycare. Nathan had to wear black pants and a white shirt and Andrew had to wear a white shirt. No idea what Nathan will be doing in the concert but apparently he had fun at the dress rehearsal the other day! Andrew tells me he is an "angel". Should be interesting.

Had to sign another accident report for Nathan yesterday. He tripped and bumped his chin.

Nathan's favourite thing to do right now is to go into the cupboard where Chester's food is, grab a handful and throw it onto the floor. We really need some kind of safety latch for that door.

He also loves to dance....I think we have another Wiggles fan in the household!!

Here's a picture of Andrew fishing off the edge of the toy box while Grandpa plays the guitar. He kept telling Nathan to "get out of the water!".

Tonight I took Andrew to the library....he keeps saying he wants "Wiggle Bay" since he saw it at Selena and Mya's on Sunday. We had to go to a couple of libraries but we found it.

Nothing much exciting today.

Another weekend gone!

This was a busy weekend. Friday night we had our friends Cam and Allison over for dinner....Andrew really enjoys seeing them. He entertained them by dancing to the Wiggles and doing his Austin Powers impersonation. Then on Saturday Grammie and Grandpa came over and we took them to see Grandma and Papa's new condo! We got back home and Bob and I had to get ready to go to our friends Barb and Randy's house for dinner. The dinner was amazing! Barb really knows how to entertain! Then on Sunday we went to Uncle Gary's house for his birthday. We had some really good fish and chips! Andrew was just too busy and too excited to eat...the kids had a great time there as always.

I'm exhausted...hitting the sack early tonight.

Friday, December 09, 2005

Last night I went out with my friend Jody. We went for dinner at Jack Astor's then popped in to see mom and dad. It was a good night out. Bob said the kids were good while I was gone...Andrew cried a little while I was leaving but he was fine soon after.

Wow, lots of snow today! The kids at the daycare were wired! They were so excited about the snow. They'll have fun playing outside today.

Naughty spot....it was true!!

Today I asked Miss Kelly "Did Andrew happen to have a Time Out yesterday?" She started to laugh...she said "did he tell you!?" She looked surprised that he could actually communicate that to me. I told her that he kept saying "naughty spot at school" but then we couldn't understand why he was put in the naughty spot. Miss Kelly said that it was time for all the kids to sit down on the carpet...well Andrew didn't feel like sitting on the carpet yet so he continued to run around. That's when he had to have a time out! She said it was pretty funny because Andrew is her "Angel child" and is always well behaved but recently he has really come out of his shell! (not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing) Anyway she told Mrs. Ashley (Andrew's other teacher) about Andrew telling mommy and daddy about the "naughty spot" and they both cracked up laughing!

Naughty spot?

Today Andrew came home from daycare and said that he sat in the "naughty spot". He says "at school". When we ask him why, he says something but we can't understand him. I'll have to ask Miss Kelly tomorrow if it's true or not.

Nathan is coughing alot now....not so bad during the day but alot at night.

Wow, Christmas is now less than 3 weeks away! Andrew pretty much wants every toy he sees. He will really enjoy Christmas this year!

Sunday, December 04, 2005

Friday Grammie and Grandpa came for a visit and stayed overnight. Saturday I was supposed to go curling but didn't feel good so I stayed home....Bob went though and had a good time! Sunday we went to Grandma and Papa's. Bob put up some blinds for them and also a couple of lights. Their place is really starting to come together and looks great!

Coughing

Andrew has had a bad cough all this week. On Monday at daycare, he coughed up all his applesauce on himself! I have had to bring his puffers to daycare and they have been giving it to him a couple times a day. He freaks out whenever I have to give him the puffer but at daycare they say they have no problems! Funny how kids are sometimes more cooperative about things when they are dealing with someone other than their parents!!

Sunday, November 27, 2005

Yesterday we all went for a visit to mom and dad's place! They are really enjoying it there, and I can see why! It feels like they are living at a hotel right now...it hasn't really sunk in yet that this is where they live.

Today we went to Andrew's favourite store...Home Depot. He goes crazy in that place! He almost tipped over a couple of the snow blowers....almost knocked over a few people trying to GET to the snow blowers!
Then we came home and put up our Christmas tree....first year that we are going the artificial route. Nathan has taken off a few ornaments so far but for the most part he doesn't bother with the tree.

Poo poo...

I took the day off work yesterday to help mom and dad unpack. Around noon, I get a call from the daycare telling me that Andrew had a loose BM and that I need to pick him up! They did this to me last week as well and it turned out Andrew was fine! But I guess with the stomach flu going around, they want to be extra careful. I bring Andrew home, and he's fine. No fever, no diarrhea, he's eating normally....
The daycare tells me that he is not to come back on Friday. He has to be away from the daycare for at least 24 hours. I said "he's fine! He just happened to have a runny poop...maybe it was something he ate, maybe he's having an off day!" They said No. They have strict rules right now and everyone has to abide by them because this is flu season.

Oh well...what can you do. So I took Andrew over to Grandma and Papa's for a visit. He loves it there! We took him for a ride on the RT and then went over to the mall for lunch. He enjoyed going up and down the elevators and going with Papa to dump off the garbage. He had a great day (and he had a normal BM!).

Moving day!

Today was the day of the big move! The one we've been waiting for for over 3 years, Grandma and Papa moved into their new condo! I took the kids over there after dinner for a quick visit. It's a really nice place! It has a nice layout and you get a great view of the city. I think they will be very happy there. And it's perfect timing too because we're expecting our first snowfall and dad won't have to worry about shovelling his driveway anymore!

Accident report

Today I had to sign an accident report for Nathan. He fell down and had a red mark on his face. Nothing major. I've had to sign a few of these accident reports since he started walking! One wasn't his fault though....one of the other kids bit him on the arm!

Andrew has his appetite back. He had a good day at daycare. This week they are learning the letter L. He told me they learned about "lambs" today.

Skating!

Tonight Andrew went skating for the first time! Our friends had the ice for an hour so we thought this would be a good chance for Andrew to try out his skates! We think he did pretty good for his first time. A couple of little spills but he's got to get used to that! His favourite part was getting to sit on the Zamboni!

Saturday, November 19, 2005

Today we cleaned out the garage and put up the christmas lights! Took a chance with the kids and went out for lunch...surprisingly, they were both really good at the restaurant! Andrew still isn't eating that much but his appetite seems to be increasing a little bit. He took a 3 hour nap this afternoon!

Look at Nathan walking now! He would have walked even further if I wasn't in his way!

Having fun!
