Weekend...

Saturday afternoon I went to a memorial service for my boss' mother. When I came home some of the neighbours came over and we sat outside on the deck in the backyard. It was so nice and sunny! It was great to actually sit outside and enjoy the afternoon!

Saturday night Bob and I went to a Jack and Jill party for one of the guys on his hockey team. It was a Western theme...lots of cowboy hats, boots and country music. They had a mechanical bull! Bob thought it couldn't be that hard so he paid his $10, climbed on and lasted for a whole 6 seconds. It was really funny. They also had a chip truck parked in the driveway...free fries (and those chip trucks always have the best french fries!). Just what we needed on our way out. Fun night.

Sunday we had both sets of grandparents over for dinner. Bob did a roast on the bbq. After dinner, Grandma and Papa went over to Grammie and Grandpa's to see their condo.

Easter Weekend

The weekend went by too quickly!
Saturday we went to Grandma's for dinner. Andrew and Nathan had fun with the cousins! Sunday morning we did an easter egg hunt in the house. Then we painted some eggs. At noon we went to a local easter egg hunt which wasn't great. There was a huge line up to get one little chocolate easter bunny. Good thing we ran into some friends so they gave us one of their bunnies. Then we went to Grammie's for a swim and dinner. Busy day!

That's not nice picture of the deer! I will try to find out what happened to it.

Today Grammie and Grandpa moved out of our house and into their condo. Bob rented a truck last night and everything was moved into their place this morning. We are going over there on Sunday for dinner and a swim! They are only a 5 minute drive away from us so we will get to see them often.

Oh Deer!

Whats with the wildlife in backyards lately? Mike had a skunk, we had a deer!!
John and Ginger came home to find a police car and a few cars from the Town at our house. Everyone was looking into our backyard. They had caught a deer that had been running around the neighbourhood!! It had jumped over our fence in the backyard...and that's not a low fence. I can't believe it had jumped that high. The poor thing had cut it's stomach. Hopefully it is ok. They finally settled it down and were taking it to the vet. The kids and I had missed all the excitement but we did see the blood in the backyard. Nathan said "ewwww, gross".

The boys made a "fort" in the living room. They had their dinner in there, then watched a movie on the portable DVD player.

Bob was away at a hockey tournament this weekend. I went out with my friends on Friday night to the Red Violin to celebrate Michelle's 40th! Would not recommend this place...it was expensive and the food wasn't great. But we all had a good time.
Saturday I took the kids over to Grandma and Papa's. We spent the day there playing with Selena and Mya. The kids played really well together! Sunday we went to the video store and rented the Bee Movie, and then went for a walk outside. Let's hope that Spring is just around the corner now. Andrew and Nathan were shovelling snow into the drain to try and speed up the snow removal process!

Day off...

Today Bob and I took the day off work and kept the kids home from daycare. It was a fun-filled day for the kids. First we went Glow in the Dark Mini Putting, then over to Chuck E Cheese's (only stayed for maybe half an hour because it was way too crowded), then over to McDonalds for lunch where the kids spent alot of time in the Playland, then I took the boys over to Grandma and Papa's while Bob went to Grammie's to help with the condo. At Grandma's we went for a train ride (the RT), then to the mall for a bit (again, way too crowded!). The kids are tired, so am I!

This weekend we stayed indoors most of the time, except when shovelling the driveway! Sunday the kids went for a swim at Grammie and Grandpa's condo. Nathan can stand up in the shallow end of the pool. Andrew is getting used to dunking his head in the water which is good. He's even trying to swim a little on his own.

The condo is almost ready to be moved into! The renovations are almost done...it looks really nice!

Andrew day!

Andrew has been making me feel really guilty lately..."the other moms pick up their kids after school and they get to go home! Why do I have to go to the daycare? Some kids only go to daycare one or two days, I have to go everyday." (He takes the school bus over to the daycare everyday around 11:30). I explained to him that I have to work and he's lucky because he has so many friends, at school and also at the daycare. He said he didn't care, he wanted me to pick him up and take him home after school.

So I took the day off today and picked him up. He was SO excited...he got up extra early this morning. When school was finished, he was almost the first one out of the school running to meet me! We went to Walmart for a bit, came home and had lunch, played on the computer, went to the library. Around 4:00 I asked him if he had a good day hanging out with mommy. He said "it was kind of boring". I said "this is what it would be like everyday if I picked you up from school...do you like this?" He said quietly "no". He kept asking when Nathan was going to come home from daycare. He ran to the door when Nathan came home...couldn't wait to see him!

I think he's looking forward to getting on that school bus tomorrow and going to daycare.

Weekend

Busy weekend!
Bob was at a hockey tournament Friday and Saturday. Mom and I went to the Spring Festival at the Japanese Cultural Centre on Saturday afternoon. We stayed longer than I thought we would. Andrew enjoyed watching the Japanese dancing and the Taiko Drummers. He also liked the Origami and the Kendo. Kendo reminded him of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker's light saber fights. Saturday night the kids and I went over to a neighbour's house for dinner.

Sunday we went to the Air Canada Centre for a family skate day. It was sponsored by one of the mutual fund companies. Lots of fun. Nathan kept falling down but he still had a great time! Andrew is a pretty good skater now.
