Weekend

Great weather we had this weekend!
Today we got up early as usual and decided we'd go to a conservation area right near Uncle Gary and Aunt Jackie's house. So we called them and told them to join us if they weren't busy. It was a nice walk through the bird path...a couple of chickadees actually ate birdseeds from Bob's hand! I missed it because I was busy making sure Nathan didn't wander too far into the bush.

Came home and both kids napped so I went out to see Mama. She looks really good! We are all hoping that she has a speedy recovery.

YES! Finally!

Andrew finally did number 2 in the toilet on Friday night! He was so happy! But he hasn't gone again since. It should be easier for him now that he's done it once....hopefully.

Nathan loves eating apples right now. But you have to give him the whole apple...don't cut it into little pieces, he'll throw them onto the floor.

Went out again last night...just across the street to a jewellery party. Andrew cried for about 40 minutes after I left.
He's been good with his underwear...still won't do number 2 in the toilet though. He hasn't gone in a couple days again.

Last night I went out for dinner with friends. Andrew didn't care that I was going out because he had his friend Cole over and they were busy watching Lilo and Stitch 2.

Bob cut the grass for the first time yesterday. The boys were pretty excited to see the lawnmower and trimmer in action!

Went to visit Anne and Jamie today. Nathan kept busy chasing Minky around!

Andrew was good all day yesterday with his underwear. But after dinner we were playing outside and then he went pee right by the door. He said he wanted to go inside but I guess he couldn't wait.

He's really good....sometimes he'll tell me that he has to go pee and all of a sudden, I can hear him peeing in the toilet! He doesn't even wait for me, he just goes on his own. He is doing it standing up now...he likes that better than sitting down.

He wore a diaper to bed last night so this morning he finally did number 2! Wow, today was day 4 so if he didn't go today, I was going to have to take matters into my own hands...and he wouldn't have liked that. He keeps saying "only pee pee in the toilet, no poo poo". It'll happen soon I'm sure.

Well, Day 2 and no accidents in the underwear! Wow! Could this finally be happening?! The only thing is, Day 2 and no number 2. Hopefully he's not constipated now from holding it in. It's gotta happen tomorrow.
He wants to wear a diaper at bedtime so maybe it'll happen while he's wearing the diaper...right now I don't care, I just want him to go!

As of today, Andrew is now in the Senior preschool class. They said he was fine...it's an easy transition since he knows most of the kids in the class already.

Bob was in a hockey tournament all weekend. Yesterday Grammie and Grandpa came over for a quick visit, then we all went to watch Bob's game. Nathan didn't want to sit in the stroller so he was off and running all over the place. Andrew didn't watch any of the game...he was too busy looking at all the video games! So much for watching the game.

Today there was another hockey game but I took the kids to Grandma and Papa's for a visit instead. For days Andrew has been wanting to go there because at our last visit, Grandma told him that he'd get a "prize" if he left his blankie at home. So before we left, he went upstairs and left his blankie in his room. He did well without the blankie but started asking for it on the way home...but he made it!
(and he got his prize).

Andrew was great today with his underwear! No accidents all day. He wore pull ups for the afternoon and even that stayed completely dry! The only thing is, he won't do number 2 in the toilet...he says "only pee pee in the toilet". So we'll see what happens with that. Hopefully he won't hold it in all the time!

Andrew keeps saying he wants to buy a Spiderman toy at Walmart. We keep telling him to save his money and when he has enough, he can buy the toy. So this afternoon we broke open his piggy bank and he had about $12.00 in there. We were off to Walmart and he got the toy he wanted! He is beginning to understand that he can't always get what he wants and that there is a price to everything.

Last night I went out with a couple of friends for dinner. Andrew cried for about half an hour after I left...he's not getting any better when I go out. At least it was a nice night so he got to play outside with the neighbourhood kids.

Before I went out, we took the kids for a bike ride. It was fun...at least I'm getting a bit of exercise. My legs were like rubber after the ride.

Today we packed away the snowblower and shovels and brought out the lawnmower and trimmer. I am assuming that we will not have any freak snowfalls.

The weather has been great! Last night I took Andrew for a nice bike ride along a path right by our house. He sat in the seat that attaches to the bike. Tonight we bought one for Nathan, and a helmut...so we can all go riding! (Maybe Nathan should wear the helmut in the house because he fell down the stairs tonight...he's fine, small bump on his head).

This morning we went to visit Grandma and Papa because Andrew wanted to go swimming again. Andrew didn't want to get out of the pool!

We've now moved this out of the way so no more playing with the computer!

We spent Sunday up at Grammie and Grandpa's. It was a great day so we were outside alot...riding the tractor and flying kites (and letting go of kites..poor Grandpa had to get a ladder to try and get one of them down). Nathan is just like Andrew...loves the tractor! When it's time to actually cut the grass, Grandpa is not going to have any gas because I think the kids used most of it up.

Easter!

We spent the day at Grandma and Papa's house today. Everyone had a good time in the swimming pool (I think even Julia did for a short while!), then we played games and had a great dinner. The kids played well together...except sometimes Andrew won't leave poor Selena alone! She tolerates him well though, you can really tell now that Selena is the big cousin of the bunch.

Miss Kelly said that Andrew wore his underwear all day at school and never had an accident! But as soon as he came home, that's when the accident happened. Oh well. We put him right back into underwear and thought we'd try again.

I went out with a girlfriend for dinner and while I was out, Andrew had another accident...number one and number two! Ewww...gross. Glad I wasn't home for that one!

Darn, shopping isn't fun anymore...

Tried to do a bit of shopping with Nathan this morning but he just screamed until I let him out of the shopping cart. Then he runs around all over the place like it's the first time he's tasted freedom! He has about a 15 minute time limit and then it's all over. There is absolutely no time for browsing anymore.

On the weekend we had an episode at Walmart. It was Andrew who was screaming! It was one of those moments where you can't believe it's your child that is making all this noise. These are the kids that we roll our eyes and shake our heads at.
The only solution....Leave the cart and the items, shopping can be done another time, carry the child quickly out of the store kicking and screaming before it gets any worse.

Today I went to visit Anne and her new baby Jamie. They are doing really well! Then this afternoon Uncle Gary, Aunt Jackie, Selena and Mya popped in for a quick visit...Andrew wants them to come back again soon! Shortly after they left, our friends Ken and Jen (with Keegan and Hiley) and Lorraine (with Jake and Max) came over for dinner. We ordered in Swiss Chalet, which everyone was happy with. It was very loud having 5 boys all under the age of 4 all together playing, then fighting. Hiley was the only girl but she managed to get along well with all the boys! I lost count of the number of cheeseballs Nathan ate.

Here's Nathan around 9:30 tonight...wide awake and having some Cheerios. He used to be so good about going to bed between 7:30 and 8:00 but lately he just doesn't want to go to sleep! I might have to start cutting out the afternoon nap.

Rabbits!

This morning we had fun watching 3 rabbits play around in our backyard! I wonder if Mochi needs a playmate?

Today was a day spent with medical personnel....this morning Andrew had his first visit with the dentist! He loved the waiting room because they had a big fish tank with fish that looked like Nemo and Dory, a couple of video games, lots of toys and a few televisions. Then when we got into the room, the television on the ceiling had Treehouse on and we were just in time for the Wiggles. He was great throughout the exam! No cavities! And he got a Spiderman whistle and a balloon on the way out. He said he was "upset" though when the dentist told him that he should stop sucking his thumb so much.

After that we went to the pediatrician. He checked Andrew's chest and said it sounds great and that we can stop the daily puffer and see how he does.

Then tonight I took Nathan to the doctor to get his ears checked. There is still an infection in one ear so he's on antibiotics for another 6 days.

We've got to really start working on potty training him. He will be moving up to the Senior preschool class soon!

Chester

Here are some pictures of Chester with his new family! They say he has adjusted really well. We are glad that he went to a good home.

We had a good day today. Went to visit Grandma and Papa this morning. Andrew and I went to the mall to pick a few things up...what would be a 10 minute shopping outing turns out to be an hour with him! I had to drag him out of the Disney store.

Andrew only napped 10 minutes in the car today so he had a couple of blow ups this afternoon.

Congratulations Anne and Steve! They had a healthy baby girl on Saturday night, weighing in at 7 pounds 5 ounces (name is still yet to be determined). Yeah! All my friends are starting to have kids now.

What's up with Andrew and Nathan...it's 9:30 now and they are not the least bit tired yet! Could this be because of the time change?! Anyone else having this problem? Bob and I are yawning, but they aren't.

Grammie and Grandpa's house

Today we went to visit Grammie and Grandpa. What a great day! We spent most of the day outside! Rachelle and Mike were there for the day/night so the kids had a great time with them. Andrew and Nathan had a bath there, got their jammies on and were asleep in the car after about 5 minutes into the drive home.
