Underwear!

Today Nathan went to daycare with underwear on! He's been wearing pull ups the past week and the teachers tell me that he stays dry all day. So we thought we'd put him in underwear and just bring a change of clothes...well he stayed dry all day long!! After we picked the kids up from daycare we went to McDonalds for dinner, he went pee in the toilet there, then when we got home and he did Number 2 in the toilet! Amazing. Hopefully diaper-free days are just around the corner.

Weekend Wrap up

It was a busy weekend.
Friday night we had my friend Tracy and her two kids over. Saturday we had about 25 people over for a bbq. And Sunday was Mya's birthday party! It was alot of fun...the pool was really nice. Nathan didn't want to leave the pool. He was screaming and trying to pull me back to the water! The lifeguard said Bye to him and told him he had to go...he understood.

Zoo

We took the kids to the zoo this morning...it was perfect weather for walking around. They really enjoyed the Dinosaur exhibit, which was pretty cool! They also liked watching the monkeys and baboons (who were getting frisky with each other...close your eyes kids!) and the huge giraffe. They thought the goat peeing and pooping was quite funny. Andrew asked us if the Alpaca had fake teeth, we said "no, he just has really bad teeth!". People around us thought that was pretty funny. We were there for about 3 hours. I think next year we might get a zoo pass so we can go back as many times as we need. I think we only covered one and a half sections of the zoo!

The rest of the day was spent playing outside with the neighbours.

Bob and I went to Niagara on the Lake for a night. My work was having a conference there for 2 days. I didn't have to attend any of the meetings...we just went there to have fun. We golfed at Royal Niagara on Thursday afternoon, then went to the work dinner which was nice. Friday took a drive to the Falls. I enjoy watching the Falls...it's amazing how much water is falling each second, kind of hypnotizing.
Grandma and Papa watched the boys for us while we were gone. They had a good time...Andrew wanted them to stay another night!

Corn Roast

Today we went to Aunt Joan's Corn Roast. The boys had alot of fun and enjoyed their cotton candy and snow cones. The weather was great, so was the food!! Jody came to the party too with Avery and her two nieces. They loved the dunk tank!

Last day of our vacation :(

Yesterday I took the kids over to grandma and papa's place. We walked over to the mall, then we went back to the condo for a swim. It took Nathan about 15 minutes to get into the water, then he didn't want to come out!

Today Andrew had a dentist appointment. He got 2 fillings done. He cried on and off during the procedure but once the freezing and the gas really kicked in, he was fine. Afterwards he said he liked getting fillings.

Downtown!

We took the go train downtown this afternoon. Andrew kept saying he wanted to go on a go train! We get to the go station and we run into Aunt Laura, Uncle Mike and Justice! They were going to the baseball game. We sat with them on the train then went our own way once we got to Union station. Got downtown around dinner time so we went to a restaurant and had dinner down there. The restaurant had t.v's at the tables so that helped a little with keeping the boys occupied. After dinner we got tickets to the Blue Jays game. The kids lasted 2 innings. Oh well, they were cheap seats and we didn't really expect them to last too long anyway. Nathan loved watching the elevators go up and down the CN Tower though!

Long weekend!

We went to Orillia on Saturday for my friend Jody's daughter's first birthday. From there we went to the trailer to visit Bob's parents. We stayed there for 3 nights...that's a record! The boys love it there! The kids are still with Grammie and Grandpa today so Bob and I had a bit of a break. We went out for a nice dinner tonight. The kids are getting dropped off tomorrow morning. Andrew went to soccer last night....he actually wanted to go! He did ok. He fell down and scaped his knee and his forehead while he was running onto the field though. Cried, wanted to go home but he was fine after a couple of minutes.

The kids had a clown come into the daycare yesterday. The clown asked for a volunteer to come to the front and there was Andrew with his hand way up in the air....so he got picked! Apparently the clown was doing all kinds of magic tricks and Andrew was his little helper. The teacher said he was great, laughing the whole time he was up there!
It surprises me that he wants to be picked for these things. Last month they had a singer from Treehouse come to the daycare and he also wanted a volunteer...Andrew put up his hand and got picked for that too!
