We had a little get together at Uncle Kirk and Aunt Jackie's house. Uncle Mike, Aunt Laura and Justice were there. The kids got a lot of good stuff again!

We've had a busy past few days. On Christmas Eve, We had a nice dinner with Grammie and Grandpa. They slept over night and spent Christmas Morning with us. For dinner we went to Uncle Gary and Aunt Jackie's house. Lots of fun, very loud, great food. On Boxing Day we had our neighbours and friends come by! Kind of looking forward to a nice quiet day at work on Monday!

Yesterday we went to my friend Jody's house for a Christmas party. During the party, Santa showed up at the door!! The kids were all excited. All the children got a present. Andrew and Nathan each got a Webkinz.

This week the boys had their Christmas concert (school concert...daycare concert is next week). Andrew is excellent at singing and doing the actions. Nathan sings half the time and the other half he's making weird faces.

Bob is trying to build an ice rink in the backyard...it was going well until Sunday when it rained and the temperature went up to 8 degrees! Oh well, we'll have to flood it again and hope the temperature drops.

Went to the Oshawa Generals game last night. Andrew and Nathan were SO bored! Tried to keep them occupied with popcorn and nachos but it didn't work. We left after the second period. Nathan just kept asking "when is the zamboni going to come out?"

The kids are done school this Friday for a couple of weeks so they will be going to daycare next week. I have no vacation days left...Bob may have a couple of days.
Almost ready for Christmas!

The Christmas decorations are out...the tree is up! Almost ready from Christmas...
Hard to get a good picture of the kids these days...if they are touching each other, they will start wrestling. Never fails.

Today Andrew received the "Golden Eagle" award for his class. Each month the teacher picks a few students from each class to receive this award. This month it was for "Responsibility". So Bob and I went to the school this morning and there was a presentation for all the kids from Kindergarten to Grade 3. They called Andrew up to the front and he was very happy to receive this award!! Good job Andrew!

Tonight it was parent/teacher interview night. Nathan's teacher said that he is one of the most improved Junior Kindergarten students. He listens well, raises his hand when he wants to talk, is well behaved, knows the alphabet and numbers.
Andrew's teacher said that Andrew is very social, everyone likes him, he loves to participate, and he's very smart! So they are both doing well in school which was nice to hear.

Weekend Update...

Well, not much to update because I have been sick since Wednesday. I had a throat infection, got antibiotics for it, but then had a fever on and off until Sunday.
Finally feeling better now. Andrew's fever which I thought had gone away, came back for a couple of days. He's also better now.

Bob put up the Christmas lights outside on the weekend and we put up the Christmas tree tonight. The boys are very excited about Christmas this year!

Weekend was busy.
Friday night I went out with 4 girls from the neighbourhood. Saturday Andrew had hockey practice at 8:00 in the morning, then we went to a birthday party in the afternoon. Saturday night we went over to a friend's place for a 40th birthday party.
Sunday we went to see baby Emily. She is really cute! And she is bigger than I thought she would be which is great! I can't believe I forgot my camera.
Andrew started to get a fever while we were visiting. I think he caught what Nathan had in Florida. But it only lasted a day and he is back at school today.

Tonight is Nathan's last skating lesson which I'm sure he's happy about.

Pictures

Ok, here are some pictures...I tried to narrow them down, but there's still alot!

One really funny thing that happened on the trip...we were walking around the beautiful gardens at the Atlantis Hotel. I turn around and Nathan is gone. I'm looking around and there he is about 50 feet away, under a palm tree with his shorts down to his ankles...going pee on some nice exotic plants!! No Nathan! I go running over to him and I see two guys looking down from their balcony laughing. How embarrassing. I pull his shorts up quickly. He says that "it was too late", I guess that means he really had to go? He says "I peed in the bush at the cottage". Nathan, this is NOT a cottage! Oh well, I think those two guys are the only ones that saw him do it...right after I pulled his pants up, lots of people came walking through the garden! Good thing those rich, stuffy old ladies didn't see what he had just done.

Florida Trip!

We are back from a week's vacation in Florida with Grandma and Papa! Nice weather we've come back to. Yuck.
We had a great time. We were on a Carnival Cruise to Nassau for the first few days, then we did Disney for the rest of the week. The weather was hot in Nassau but when we got back to Florida, the temperature had dropped alot from the day we arrived! But it was perfect weather for walking around Disney. Nathan had a fever for a couple days, threw up a few times one night but he was a trooper (and Advil works wonders!). Andrew had more energy that I ever thought he had! He was great the whole trip (although he's a bit of a shopaholic) and absolutely loved Walt Disney World!
I took over 400 pictures so I have to sort through them before I post.

Jacob's Birthday

We celebrated Jacob's 2nd birthday on Sunday! It was loud and lots of fun! Nathan loved playing with Jacob's new train set. We sang Happy Birthday to Jacob 3 times just because he loved it so much. Nathan started to get impatient...he yelled "just eat it, this is taking WAY too long!"

We missed Aunt Sheryl and Emily though. Soon Emily will be joining in on all the parties!

Thursday, November 06, 2008

A big congratulations to Uncle Mike, Aunt Sheryl and Julia on the birth of Emily!!
We are so glad that she is doing well and we hope that she can go home very soon.

This week is flying by!
Halloween was fun. The kids only went trick or treating on our street, then they got tired and that was it. Andrew said he had enough candy...at least he's not greedy! We had 180 kids come to our house. I had enough candies for 200 so we had a bit leftover. I knew we were going to get alot of kids.

Nathan didn't want to go to his skating lesson on Tuesday so we didn't force him. Lately he doesn't seem very interested in it at all. He said he doesn't like falling down. Bob will try to take him public skating this weekend. Try to get him interested again...

Happy Birthday to Jacob!! I can't believe he is already 2 years old. Time flies!
We will see you on Sunday.

Nathan had a great time at his birthday party! He loves all of his gifts. Thank you everyone!

Sunday, October 26, 2008

Weekend was good. We went out for dinner with our neighbours on Saturday night..with the kids. It was actually a nice dinner. The kids (4 of them) entertained each other at one end of the table while the adults could actually have a conversation together at the other end.

Andrew had hockey practice at 6:30 on Saturday morning and a game at 7:00 on Sunday! He was really tired on Sunday and we tried to get him to take a nap before Nathan's party but he wouldn't. Bob had no trouble napping though!

Thursday, October 23, 2008

Bob got home safe and sound on Tuesday night. He had a great time with the guys! He has some really cool pictures of the fish they caught while deep sea fishing. I'll post some pictures soon.

I took Nathan to his skating lesson on Tuesday. He didn't have fun. Lots of falling down (sometimes really hard!). Poor guy...he cried on and off the whole time. I was taking his skates off and he says he wants to skate with daddy, not me. That's fine.

Happy Birthday Nathan!

Today was Nathan's 4th Birthday! We had a little celebration today. We'll have a family birthday party for him next weekend since Bob is in Florida right now until Tuesday.

Grandma and Papa were here for a couple of days to help out with the kids. They loved having them sleep over. Andrew says he wants them to sleep over again when daddy comes home. I said I'd ask.
I ate a ton of food though! Mom cooked my favourite meals. Thank you, I get spoiled when Bob goes away.

The boys were busy this weekend. Andrew went to a bowling birthday party yesterday, then he went to another birthday party today. Nathan ended up going to the birthday party today too...I walked Andrew to the door and within 3 seconds Nathan ran into the house, whipped off his shoes and went into their basement! He knew alot of the kids there from school and daycare. So he crashed the birthday party and I had a couple of hours to myself which was very nice. They had the "Travelling Critters" show at the party. Andrew said he had a millipede walk up his arm....EWWW!

This morning Andrew had his hockey game. I had a bit of trouble putting on his equipment but I managed to get it done. I think everything was on the way it should have been...and on the right body parts. His team is doing well...they won again today. He is still having fun which is good.

Apple Picking

This afternoon we went Apple picking with some friends. The apples were really tasty! The kids had alot of fun running around. Both of them fell asleep on the way home...exhausted!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yesterday we went to Uncle Mike and Aunt Sheryl's for Thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious!! I ate too much food. The kids seemed to pair up (Nathan and Jacob, Selena and Andrew, Mya and Julia) and played well together. Andrew liked playing dress up and had fun wearing the heels...Bob hasn't seen the picture yet!
Bob missed the Thanksgiving dinner because he wasn't feeling good...he stayed in bed most of the afternoon and feels better today.

Go Leafs Go!

Friday, October 10, 2008

Nathan did well at his skating lesson this week. Grammie came out to watch...maybe that motivated him a bit more.

The kids had a good week at school...Nathan is behaving himself on the school bus now. No more goofing around, being loud, not listening to the rules. Everyday I ask them if they sat together on the bus (because they always do!). One day last week Andrew says "No, Nathan has to sit by himself right behind the bus driver". So the past couple of weeks Nathan has been sitting by himself...hopefully he'll get to sit with Andrew again soon.

Andrew has hockey practice tomorrow at 8:00 and then a game on Sunday at 9:00. Lucked out this week with the later times!

First Hockey Game

Today was Andrew's first official hockey game! Grandma and Papa came to watch, so did Uncle Kirk, Aunt Jackie, Cheryl and Steven. It was a 9:00 game which was nice. Andrew woke us up at 6:15 this morning and asked "Is it time for my hockey game?" No! Go back to sleep...so he did.
The game was fun to watch...there is usually someone falling on the ice at all times. But there are some really good skaters out there! Andrew had a great time and did well.

Hockey

Andrew has started playing hockey now. He plays every Saturday morning (practice) and every Sunday morning (game). It's early...anywhere between 6:00 and 9:00!
He seems to have no trouble getting up to go, but halfway through the practice he seems to lose some steam. Complains about his mouthguard, his stomach hurts, he's hungry, he's itchy etc. He hasn't had a game yet...this Sunday will be the first one. We'll see how he does. The original coach backed out so Bob is the team's new head Coach.

Today Andrew asked "how many more days till hockey?"

Nathan didn't do so well at his skating lesson this week. He didn't try at all. Kept falling down, kicking his feet, totally not into it. Hopefully next week will be better.

Hooked on Wii

We have Bob's birthday present set up downstairs on the big screen. Andrew and Nathan love the Mario Kart game. Especially Nathan! Bob gets a little queasy while playing/watching that game. I'm surprised that Nathan doesn't get queasy too since he gets carsick sometimes. Lots of fun...although I can see how people can get hooked on it!
