Great Wolf Lodge

We went to Great Wolf Lodge for the first time on Sunday (until Monday). The kids had alot of fun at the arcade. They liked the arcade more than the waterpark! Andrew was nervous to go on the waterslides but eventually he went on a medium sized slide, so did Nathan. We went on one slide where all four of us could sit in a tube...that was fun, and fast! Nathan was just on the verge of crying but then it was over. He said he wasn't scared at all...ya right!

Happy Birthday Andrew!

Andrew celebrated his 8th birthday yesterday. He had 9 of his friends from school/hockey come over and destroy the house on Saturday afternoon. Wow, boys are crazy. It was all about hockey, video games, Nerf guns and fart jokes. Fun stuff.
Yesterday we went to Lonestar where he had some ribs and they sang happy birthday to him (which he loved...he loves the attention!).

Nathan's new bed

Nathan needed his own personal space to do his homework. The kitchen table just wasn't cutting it anymore. Too many distractions (television and fridge). So a few weeks ago we bought him a loft bed with a desk. So far so good.

Andrew scores!

Andrew got his first goal of the season and the "hard work" belt on Monday night. He played a good game. When he came out of the change room I said "that was a nice goal you got!" He says "that was easy".

Some other news...we bought a 2010 Dodge Caravan. We traded in the Santa Fe. Yes, after years of saying we would never get a minivan, we could not pass this up! Bob's friend owns a Chrysler dealership and I know someone who works at Chrysler so we ended up getting a great deal. We've been saying that we wanted a vehicle that seats 7 passengers for the past couple of years and now with hockey, and going up to the trailer every weekend in the summer, the extra space will come in handy.

Nathan is loving music right now...he knows more words to songs than I do (or at least he thinks he knows the words). Here's a video of him from the other night. You can hear me singing a little bit, sorry about that. There are many other videos of him lip-synching...I'll upload another one soon.

Happy New Year Everyone!

We welcomed in the New Year with our neighbours. The kids stayed at our place and had pizza and watched movies while the adults went across the street to a neighbour's for appetizers, then to another neighbour's for dinner and dessert, then back to our place for the celebration. Then on New Years day we went to another neighbour's for breakfast and then to Mama's for dinner.

Today Andrew had a hockey game (they lost 3-1). It's back to school tomorrow! They went to bed at a decent time tonight so hopefully they'll be well rested. It'll be nice to get back to a routine.
