Today we had our next door neighbours over for a visit. They are two boys (age 5 and 3). Andrew was cranky and kept fighting with the 3 year old. I sent Andrew to his room and he fell asleep! It was a much more relaxed visit with him sleeping!
We bought a little trampoline for the kids so they all had fun taking turns jumping.
Andrew cried on Monday and Wednesday when I dropped him off at daycare. Hope he'll be ok tomorrow. There's an open house in the afternoon. Parents will get the kids report cards.
I am meeting with a rep in a couple of weeks to talk about working for him (this is the same guy I met with before I was laid off). He doesn't need anyone until September which would work out well for me...I'd get the summer off. Not sure yet if it will be part time or full time. I feel bad about putting the kids back in daycare 5 days a week...especially when they cry when I drop them off!

Weekend was good...went to Mama's on Saturday (see Gary and Mike's blog...forgot my camera). Then on Sunday we spent the day up at Grammie and Grandpa's house (forgot my camera again). As soon as we got there, Nathan runs to the work shed and was in heaven...tractor, trimmer, lawnmower!! He spent most of his time in there if he wasn't getting a tractor ride.
This afternoon we went to Kelsey's to celebrate Cheryl's graduation, then tonight was the ceremony. Congratulations Cheryl...it's off to highschool next year! We managed to sit through about 5 minutes of the graduation ceremony. Andrew would not keep quiet and Nathan was getting really fidgety. So we left (against Andrew's will) and so he screamed all the way to the car, all the way home and eventually all the way to bed.

Andrew stayed home from daycare yesterday....his eyes have been puffy and red. I thought maybe it was allergies. Doctor said it looks like an eye infection. Great. So I've been trying to give him eye drops 3 or 4 times a day. It hasn't been too bad.
Last night Grandma and Papa came over to babysit. Bob and I went out to a local restaurant to celebrate 9 years of wedded bliss! It was nice to get out.

Darien Lake

We went to Darien Lake for a few days. It was alot of fun! We rented a trailer on the park site with some family and friends. There were lots of rides for the kids to go on and a nice water park. It was convenient staying in the park because we could come and go as many times as we wanted during the day.
Andrew's highlight of the trip was seeing the Batman Thrill show (really loud show but I can see why the kids love it...Batman kicks the Joker's butt!). Then after the show, he got to shake hands with Batman. He does this really weird nervous crotch grabbing thing though. I love the picture...look at how serious Batman is and then there's Andrew grabbing himself.
Nathan loved meeting all the Warner Bros. characters. He runs right up to them, gives them a hug and a high five! Nathan and Andrew both love going on rides.
Bob and I got to go on a few roller coasters. I love the Superman roller coaster...went on it 3 times. Bob went on it 4 times! Before riding on this roller coaster the Hulk was our favourite (Islands of Adventure) but after this one, I think this is the best one yet!
It was a good trip....would do it again next year.
Selena's Party!

Selena's birthday party was on Saturday. The kids had alot of fun, as usual!
Weather was great, food was great too. The boys had fun banging their cars into each other while the girls had their tea party in the playhouse (Sheryl and I were observing how different boys and girls are...I know you guys are thinking "whew! Good thing we had girls").
Andrew just loves that basement!

Andrew is finally getting over his cold....so what does he do? Falls face first into the kitchen table and almost knocks his two front teeth out! Took him to the dentist and she said his teeth are fine...they're loose but they're not going to fall out. Never a dull moment with Andrew that's for sure.
I went back to the clinic yesterday to get another prescription for Andrew because he either spit out or threw up almost the whole bottle of medicine!!
Now, we have a routine and it seems to be working. He is now swallowing his medicine....I just have to mix it with a tiny bit of Advil (to kill the bitter taste), then have his apple juice ready to wash it down, also his toothbrush to brush his tongue, and some Kleenex to wipe his tongue and then finally a little candy treat. Lots of prep work for me but at least he isn't throwing it up anymore!

I took Andrew back to the doctor this morning. He's not coughing as much but I can still hear some wheezing...plus he has been complaining that his ear hurts. Turns out he has an ear infection now. So now he's on antibiotics (which he hates!) on top of the prednisone. Hopefully this will get him feeling better in time for the weekend. He is not at daycare today.
Nathan still has a runny nose and he's started coughing as well. We have had very little sleep the past 3 nights!

Sick...
Andrew and Nathan both have colds. Nathan just has a runny nose so far but Andrew has a bad cough...he coughed all through the night pretty much. Then today I noticed he was wheezing and had some rapid breathing so I took him to the clinic. The doctor said he is wheezing alot so he prescribed liquid prednisone (on top of the puffers). We gave it to him tonight and of course it's a struggle to give him any kind of medication! It is supposed to be given with food but he's hardly eaten a thing today so hopefully his stomach can handle it.

Nathan is obsessed with lawnmowers, tractors and trimmers. He loves watching Bob cut the grass and even stares out our window to watch the neighbour cut their grass as well. I thought Andrew was really into lawnmowers but I think Nathan likes them even more. It's too bad that by the time they get to the age where they can mow our lawn, they won't be interested anymore. Our Canadian Tire catalogue is practically in shreds because Nathan looks at it so much.

Friends...
Sunday, June 04, 2006

Last night we went to our friends Peter and Marion's for dinner. Peter is a great cook! The kids had fun..Andrew brought his suitcase full of toys and movies. Nathan had fun playing with the cat toys and trying to ride their dog Amber.
Today we hung out with the neighbourhood kids all day! It turned out to be a nice day. We were outside early, went to the park, played with the boys next door. Then this afternoon, Andrew's girlfriends Maddy and Ashley came over to play some video games and have a dip in the pool.
