Weekend...

Friday night we had our next door neighbour and her two boys come over for a couple of hours. There was a bit of fighting but nothing too bad.

Saturday morning we went to the flea market. They had an animal show going on. They got to see a lion, tiger, camels, elephant, etc. The kids actually enjoyed it.
Then in the afternoon, Bob took Andrew to his skating lesson...Andrew took one step onto the ice and just started screaming. He didn't even fall, he just didn't want to get onto the ice! He said he wanted me to take him but I'm not a great skater...I might have to go next week though.

Saturday afternoon my neighbours called. They said they've declared it a "girl's night". So 4 of us went out for dinner....it was fun.

That's about it for the weekend update.

Hopefully the kids will stay healthy this week! There's some kind of flu going around at the daycare. Great. It's always something!

Happy Birthday Andrew!

Andrew's birthday didn't get off to a great start...about 10:00 this morning I get a call at work telling me Andrew has a fever of 102. Bob picked him up and brought him home. He said Andrew was fine! He took his temperature a couple times during the day and it was around 98 degrees. Not sure what thermometer they use at the daycare but they did this a couple weeks ago as well. They said he had a fever but when we take his temperature at home, it's normal. Very frustrating. If he gets sent home because of a fever, he is not allowed back at the daycare the next day...really messes things up with work.

Anyway, Andrew was asking for his Batman birthday cake today. I told him we'll bring one to Julia's birthday party.

Well, second year in a row and Andrew's birthday party has been cancelled. That's what you get for being a January baby I guess. I really don't think he realizes anyway. The kids are feeling alot better than the beginning of the week but they're still not 100%....I don't want to take the chance of spreading any kind of virus around. Even Bob and I are still coughing! It was a rough week with me and the kids being sick. I'm exhausted.

I've been at home sick for the past two days. I've got some kind of flu.
Yesterday I was home sick and so were the two kids! Nathan still wasn't feeling great, Andrew woke up in the middle of the night with the chills and ended up with a fever in the morning. Andrew threw up twice, had a 5 hour nap during the day, and then was fine by the evening.
They were both ok to go to daycare today so I got some good rest while they were out.

Yesterday we went to Aunt Joan and Uncle Mike's for dinner. The boys had alot of fun playing on Rachelle's bed! Nathan started to get a fever in the evening. I took him to the doctor this morning and he has an ear infection and bronchitis. He slept for about 5 hours during the day today. Hopefully he will recover quickly and that none of us will catch it.

Another week of work down. It was such a busy week at work!
The kids were really good at daycare. Nathan only cried one out of five mornings. Andrew was the one always whining about not wanting to go to school. But he always has a great day while he's there. Yesterday and today when I went to Andrew's class to pick him up, he tells me that I came to get him too early and that he's not finished playing!! So I get Nathan first, then we go back to get Andrew.

Unfortunately Bob didn't have a great week. He has a slipped disc from hockey on Tuesday night. I keep telling him to retire but that isn't going to happen.

Skating!

Andrew had his first skating lesson today! It's parents and tots so Bob went out on the ice with him. He was a little cranky because we had to wake him up from his nap. Then he fell in the first 5 minutes of the lesson, then continued to cry the remainder of the time. I didn't even really get a good picture because Nathan wanted to run everywhere except where the rink was.

Andrew still says he had fun! Hopefully next week will be better.

Yesterday afternoon, Andrew had a fever at daycare. They were trying to call me as I was on my way to get the kids. I gave Andrew some Advil when we got home, and he was fine the rest of the night and all day today! He wasn't allowed back at daycare today though because they have to be fever-free for 24 hours...so he spent some time at Grandma and Papa's. What a week...TGIF.

First week of full time work...feels long, even though it's a short week.

Andrew was coughing alot on New years day but the next day he was fine. Nathan woke up with a fever! I left work a bit early yesterday and we took him to the doctor. Poor guy, he definately wasn't himself. He's on antibiotics now. Today he still had a fever in the morning but the rest of the day he was back to normal! Luckily Bob was able to work from home so I could put in a full day's work. Everyone should be good to go tomorrow!

Happy New Year! We went to Mama's today for dinner...good food as usual. We didn't stay too long, Andrew was coughing alot and the more he ran around, the worse it got.
Hopefully he is better tomorrow. This will be my first full time work week!
