Happy Canada Day!

We celebrated Canada Day with the neighbours. The kids went for a swim yesterday (and today), we had dinner together last night and then there was a big soccer game in the street! Bob brought out the guitar and entertained for a few hours. We didn't buy fireworks this year because they kept calling for rain (which never came).

Last week Bob had bronchitis, Andrew had a fever for a day (and cough), then I got a really bad cold. We're almost back to normal now!

Darien Lake

We went to Darien Lake this past weekend. Friday night was fun, but it started to rain during the night and didn't stop until Saturday around dinner time! Sunday morning we woke up and it was so foggy. The kids didn't mind the weather...they went on rides and jumped in puddles Saturday morning, and then I drove them to Target in the afternoon just to get out of the rain! They wanted to stay and go on more rides on Sunday! But by then, I had enough and just wanted to go home.
Mike and Gary roughed it for one night...that was enough for them. Next year, we'll stay in the hotel!

Trailer

We went up to the trailer on Saturday morning....stayed till Sunday afternoon. The weather was great! The kids had fun riding their bikes and looking for turtles. Unfortunately we missed Selena's birthday party on Saturday. Came home a bit early because we had alot of stuff to do around the house...finally put out the patio furniture. I think summer might finally be here?!

We had a little driveway party on Friday night...Bob set up the television in the garage and we watched the hockey game.
All the kids were running around outside and Andrew did a face plant on the driveway! Ouch.

Friday

The kids didn't have school on Friday so I took the day off work. I picked up Grandma in the morning and we went to the Science Centre. They really enjoyed it...especially Andrew.

Weekend Update...

Had a good weekend!

Friday, Grammie and Grandpa picked up the kids from daycare and took them to their trailer for the night. This was the first time they have been up there without Bob or myself. We asked the kids on Thursday night if they wanted to do this and they were very excited about it!
So Bob and I went out with friends on Friday night which was really nice. Saturday morning, Bob went up to the trailer and I went to Supperworks with my friend Anne. It was so much fun! The girls that work there are very friendly and you end up chatting with others as you prepare your meals. I would definately do it again. So I was on my own on Saturday afternoon/night....I went to Gary and Jackie's to see their new place. Very nice! It has a much more cozy feel to it. I think they will be very happy there...the kids seem to love it already.

The boys got home today around noon....Bob said it was really cold at the trailer this morning. Andrew and Nathan absolutely loved the trailer...they had so much fun playing with other kids, going to the park, fishing, etc. Andrew wants us to buy a trailer now....oh no.

Long weekend...

Long weekend was good...we just hung out at home. We set up the new wall unit(thanks Tracy!) and Andrew had no problem filling it up with more Lego. Andrew had a friend from school come over on Sunday, Bob and I did some gardening, although it was really cold! Did some planting on Monday. Got together with the neighbours a couple of times, and on Monday night we had a bit of sparkler fun!

Yesterday was Grandma's birthday! The kids were back in school so Bob and I went to Mama's and picked up fish and chips for lunch for mom's birthday. After lunch we dropped the car off for an oil change and went to the driving range while we waited for the car to be ready. Bob wanted to try out his new clubs.
Picked up the kids from daycare and they tell me Andrew has pink eye...every year in May or June, Andrew gets allergies and every year the daycare makes him stay home because they think he has pink eye! They make him play by himself in the corner so the other kids don't catch it! So he wasn't allowed to go to daycare this afternoon so Grandma and Papa came over, picked the kids up after school (11:15) and brought them home for the afternoon. Andrew's eye was fine! I'll have to give him some allergy medication tomorrow morning and hopefully he won't have itchy eyes!!

T-Ball

Andrew had his first T-Ball game tonight. He enjoyed it. He likes going up to bat and he hit the ball well, but then when it's his team's turn to play outfield, he stands there and yells "I don't know what to do!" He'll get the hang of it soon.

Niagara Falls

We took the kids to Niagara Falls for a night on Sunday. They had a good time...they enjoyed Bird Kingdom, the falls and the ferris wheel...and sleeping in the hotel of course. The Brick City (Lego) was a huge rip off but they enjoyed it. We went across the border for a couple of hours and did a bit of shopping.

Wow, I'm getting behind in my posts...
The 2 walls in the kids bedroom are now red...took about 5 coats of paint! But they like it.
Uncle Gary didn't want to move his fish tank to the new house so Bob gladly took it off his hands! We set it up in our family room...transferred all the fish over and filled up the tank over a 3 day period. All the fish are doing fine and loving their new surroundings! Sold the old tank on Kijiji in 30 minutes.

Today we participated in a garage sale at the school....it would have been nice if it was outdoors but because of the rain, everything was inside. We made $52. Oh well, got rid of some junk.

Haven't been doing too much lately...
Saturday we went to our friends (Marty and Donna) house and let the kids play, had dinner there. Sunday we went to see Gary and Jackie's new house...really nice!
Bob had the urge to paint so he's painting the kid's room right now...2 red walls (Spiderman red). Andrew wanted to get in there and help out.

We had a nice Easter dinner on Sunday at our house. Both sets of grandparents came over! It was back to work today...kids went to daycare.

We have a new bookcase to display all of Andrew's Lego!

This weekend Bob, Mike and Gary went to Mama's house to paint her dining room. I brought the kids over as well and they had a nice visit with Mama and also with Lucas! Lucas was very excited to show Andrew and Nathan all his toys.
Bob is back there today just to do some finishing touches.

Weekend

Bob was away this weekend in Kingston for a hockey tournament. The boys and I hung out at mom and dad's yesterday....today was a great day to spend outside. Bob got home around 2:00 this afternoon.

Andrew wanted to put the roller blades on. This is his second time roller blading...he did really well!

Last weekend Andrew went to his first Leaf game! He lasted 2 periods, then got very bored. He was happy with his new stuffed animal though.

Andrew lost a tooth this week, his second one. He put it under his pillow right away. The next morning he wakes up and yells "the tooth fairy didn't come!". Oops!! So I quickly threw a toonie under his other pillow and told him to check again, that can't be! He was very relieved to find the toonie. Then the tooth fairy came to take his tooth while he was at school.

Andrew played his last game of the season this morning. His team finished in the top 4 out of 8. He was very happy with his trophy. He plays in a tournament this week (3 games) and then we're done!! Bob and Andrew can start sleeping in again on the weekends!

Downtown

We spent the day/night downtown yesterday. We got there just in time for the St. Patrick's day parade. The kids enjoyed it...they liked dancing to the music. Then we walked through the Eaton Centre and then back to the hotel. We went for a short swim (too many people in the pool...and the hot tub was REALLY hot! Nathan put one foot in, that was enough for him). The hotel had a play centre which was cool...they had a couple of Wiis, computers, lots of toys and games. Andrew did some arts and crafts while Nathan played Webkinz. You can leave the kids there for a small fee but Andrew didn't want us to leave! They had a jumping castle set up so they did that for a bit. They also had movies for the kids. Lots of stuff going on in the hotel for March Break.

Today we took the kids to the Cinesphere to watch "Bolt". They had already seen the movie but we thought it would be cool to watch it on the giant screen. We get there and Andrew says "The screen isn't that big". He's hard to please. Then he had to go to the bathroom 3 times during the movie...then we left before the movie was finished!! Oh well.

Bob and I didn't get a good sleep (I had Nathan pretty much sleeping on my head hogging my pillow, and Andrew woke Bob up a couple times) but at least they had fun. They wanted to stay at the hotel for another night but we said no way!

On the weekend we went to the Japanese Cultural centre for the annual Spring Festival. While we were there, we checked out my new office. We will be moving there in a few weeks.
Sunday Bob had some ice time at the local rink so we got a bunch of neighbours and friends to come out for a skate! Nathan loves skating now...he hated the skating lessons but he loves pleasure skating.
