Happy Halloween!

The kids had fun last night. Grammie and Grandpa came over for dinner and then stayed to hand out candy while Bob and I took the kids out. It was really windy! Nathan got tired/bored quickly. We just went around the block. After they were done trick or treating, we went over to a neighbours house for a bit.

Andrew had a 6:00 hockey game this morning...he was the goalie. His team won 14-1 so Andrew was very bored in net.

Andrew's teeth seem to be coming in rather crooked.

weekend

Friday night we had dinner at Grammie and Grandpa's condo. Homemade French onion soup. Really good! Saturday we got together at the neighbours house for a games night..lots of fun. Uncle Kirk, Aunt Jackie and Steven came over to babysit. The kids had a good time.

Sunday Andrew had an early hockey game (7:00). He scored again! Two weeks in a row!
Next week he is playing in net.

Nathan's Birthday

Nathan turned 5 today! Wow, can't believe he's already 5 years old.
Andrew decorated a birthday cake for him yesterday and today we went to Chuck E Cheese's for dinner! Thank you for all the birthday wishes!

Pretty busy weekend...we put up some Halloween decorations. Andrew went to a birthday party Saturday and Sunday. He also played hockey Saturday and Sunday morning. It was a 9:00 game today so Nathan and I went to watch...Grammie came too. It was a good game, lots of action. They tied 7-7. Andrew scored! He got a nice goal. He was at the front of the net and the puck came right to him and he shot it in!

Thanksgiving weekend

Busy weekend so far. Saturday we went to Uncle Kirk's for dinner (turkey and prime rib). It was delicious! Yesterday we went to Aunt Joan's for dinner...more turkey. YUM! Joan and Mike have a bunch of animals now (13 cows, a donkey, some chickens and a very loud rooster, 4 rabbits and 3 sheep)...it's like a petting zoo there! The kids had fun...especially riding around on the ATV.
Today we're going to grandma and papa's. I'm so glad I am not working tomorrow.

Weekend

Andrew still loves his Lego! He made this....we're not sure exactly what it is. I am mailing the picture into Lego Canada and we're hoping that it will be in one of the next issues of the Lego Magazine.

Saturday Andrew was up at 5:15 to go to his hockey evaluation! He has no problem getting up that early. Later in the afternoon I took the kids over to play with Selena, Mya and Jacob for a few hours. Jacob really enjoys hanging out with the boys!

Sunday I took Andrew to see "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". It was ok...he said he liked "Aliens in the Attic" more.

School!

Andrew started school on Tuesday...he was looking forward to seeing all his friends again. We got to the school and he barely said bye to me, he was so busy talking to his buddies! I tried to get a nice picture of him on his first day of school but of course he wouldn't let me take a good picture!

Nathan started school on Friday...he also was looking forward to going back. He was a little shy at first but once he lined up to go into the school he was smiling and waving to me.

After school (3:15), they go to the afterschool "playcare" which is right inside the school. We pick them up around 5:00, which Andrew thinks is "too early".
It's so convenient having them at the school rather than the daycare...much easier on us for pick ups.

This weekend Andrew got his T-ball trophy. Hockey will start up in a few weeks!
Andrew and I went to see "Shorts" this afternoon. Dumb movie. Came home and now he has a fever. Hopefully it'll pass quickly.

Trailer

Andrew did well at hockey camp this week. He did alot of skating! He said his legs hurt from skating so much. They have a skating treadmill which he thought was really cool. Hockey season will start soon!

I worked Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Was off Tuesday and Thursday. I did alot of cooking! It's going to be nice having those two days off each week!

Friday we headed up to the trailer. It was "field day" on Saturday....tons of kids there! And then Saturday night we had "lobsterfest". It was alot of fun.
Got home on Sunday afternoon and then went over to the neighbours for a bbq. The kids and I are relaxing today while Bob is out golfing. Andrew starts school tomorrow and Nathan will start on Friday. They are both looking forward to getting back to school and seeing their friends.

Birthday party!

Yesterday we went to Mya's birthday party! It was a pajama party but of course I forgot. (Andrew and Nathan didn't seem to notice which was good.) They loved the Travelling Critter show. It's a great thing to have for the kids, and adults too...they can get up close and personal with different animals and it's also very educational. Great party Mya!

End of Daycare

Andrew and Nathan's last day at the daycare was on Friday. They had an end of summer party where they got their faces painted and ate a bunch of candy. They have been going to this daycare for about 4 years!! Nathan was very happy that he will no longer be going there....Andrew was sad about it.

Next week Andrew is at hockey camp everyday. Nathan will be at home and it will be my first week working part time (3 days a week). On my work days, he will either stay home with Bob or go to Grandma's. Then the following week, school begins!! Nathan goes to school full days on Monday, Wednesdays and every other Friday...so on Tuesdays and Thursdays when he has no school, I will be home with him. Andrew will be in Grade 1 so he will be going to school full days everyday. After school, from 3:15 to 5:30 they will both be in the afterschool program right at the school. So no more daycare center and no more bus!

Beautiful sky after that crazy storm blew through last night!

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Last week was Emily's baptism. I didn't take any pictures in the church...but you can check out Mike's blog for lots of pics. Emily did really well! All the kids were getting a bit restless but there were lots of other kids in the church who were much louder than our gang.

Afterwards we all went to Uncle Mike and Aunt Sheryl's new house for some food and fun! The kids had a great time in the pool.

Bedroom

Nathan keeps waking up during the night or they will start yelling at each other because one of them is making funny noises...so we decided to put them into separate bedrooms and see how it goes. Andrew stayed in the bigger room and we moved all his Lego over, and Nathan got the smaller "Batman" room. The spare room got moved over.
It wasn't a big deal to separate them...they were happy to do it.

Last night was Nathan's first night in his new bedroom....he still woke up during the night. Oh well. At least we won't hear them screaming at each other at 6:30 in the morning.

Andrew and I went to see "Aliens in the Attic" tonight, while Bob and Nathan shopped at Home Depot and went for ice cream. We paid to see G-Force but when Andrew found out that it wasn't available in 3D at this theatre, he changed his mind and we saw Aliens instead. It was actually quite entertaining! I wasn't expecting much from this movie (who would with a title like that) and it turned out to be better than I thought it would be. Andrew drank almost an entire gallon of Fruitopia during the movie and later said "I had to go to the bathroom so bad but I didn't want to miss any of the movie!" Wow, that would be a thumbs up I think!

Monday, August 03, 2009

We went to Uncle Gary and Aunt Jackie's on Monday. We got to meet "Chip". He's really cute and he seemed to like Andrew's fake hamster!
Andrew didn't want to go home when we did so Grandma and Papa dropped him off a little later. Then we went over to the neighbour's house for a swim.

Vacation

Our vacation is almost over...
We had a good one! We spent Saturday to Wednesday at the trailer (4 nights at the trailer...a new record for me), came home for the night and then we were off to Niagara Falls for a couple of nights.
The kids enjoyed the trailer. It was "Halloween" there on Saturday so the kids got tons of candy. Andrew really enjoys hanging out with his friend Owen...he even slept over at Owen's one night. We had an outdoor movie night (Bob brought our projector and a big white sheet), we went for boat rides, Andrew tried tubing, went into town and watched the lift locks, went to visit our neighbours who were renting a cottage about an hour away. Lots to do...and the weather wasn't great but it wasn't terrible either.

Thursday we went to Niagara Falls and stayed at the Days Inn. Grandma and Papa met us there...they took their usual casino bus. Did some glow in the dark mini-putting and spent alot of time (and money) at the arcade. Grandma watched the kids for us that night so Bob and I went to the casino to lose some money. I only lost $20...I know my limit. Grandma and Papa took the bus home on Friday afternoon.

We packed up and went to the Americana hotel and stayed there for the night. It's an older hotel away from the main strip but it's in good shape. The waterpark is small, but it was perfect for Andrew and Nathan. It has a retractable roof which was wide open so it didn't feel too muggy or stinky (from the chlorine). Andrew did well for someone who hates to get splashed! Eventually he went down the big waterslide and loved it! We were at the waterpark a couple times yesterday (for about 4 hours total), and then again this morning for about 2.5 hours! There's a pretty good restaurant on site so we ate there.

We're home now and happy to have a couple days to rest before the work week starts.

Saturday

Saturday we had a bbq. My girlfriends all came over with their families and a few of Bob's friends came over as well. When we get together now, there are so many little kids! Mostly girls. Anne just had a baby boy 2 weeks ago. Donna is due in two months and we're all thinking it's going to be a boy.

The kids had fun in the jumping castle and hot tub. It rained hard a couple of times but it didn't put a damper on the party!

Sunday Andrew and I went to see Transformers 2. Lots of action!
Andrew enjoyed it...It was good but I think I liked the first one better.

Weekend

Friday was "Hawaii Day" at the daycare....Andrew went to daycare with his cool shirt and hat on. He won first prize for best hawaiian outfit! He said he won a candy...he was pretty happy about that.

House

Yesterday we went to visit Uncle Mike and Aunt Sheryl's new house. It's very nice! Inside the house is a little like stepping back in time...but with the renovations that they have planned, it's going to look great. The backyard is amazing...they could have some really good parties there!
